Chapter History

The Sigma Sigma Sigma Jersey Shore Alumnae Chapter received it's charter from National in 1990.  A group of Tri-Sigma alumnae residing in the central, southern, and eastern parts of New Jersey wanted to share their sisterhood bond.  They found it difficult to participate in activities held by other alumnae chapters due to the great distances they had to travel to get to meetings.   They fulfilled all the necessary requirements, decided on a name, and were recognized by National as the Jersey Shore Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma.

The chapter has continued to flourish in the fourteen years since receiving it's charter.  We have received several National awards during these years and are quite proud of them.  Our membership is continually expanding with sisters that are varied in age as well as being in different stages in their lives.  The Jersey Shore Chapter has seen various members graduate college, begin their careers, get married, start families, send their children off to college, and become grandparents.  Our strong sisterhood bond makes us true friends, caring for one another unlike any other.
